Application technology examples
Silicone injection moulding
ARBURG is a pioneer in the injection moulding of liquid silicone (LSR). A compact production cell manufactures delicate LSR caps for micro switches. The micro-injection moulded parts, each weighing only 0.008 g, are tested and packaged inline.
Foaming
Bockatech has developed a reusable system for foamed thermal cups. Their cost-effective series production combines the MuCell® process with chemical foaming. The robotic gripper for handling was additively manufactured by a freeformer.
In-mould decoration
ARBURG and its partner Leonhard Kurz demonstrate that the in-mould decoration (IMD) process has great potential for optically enhancing plastic surfaces and making them functional, for example with the in-mould lamination of a washing machine panel.
