The example of the spirit level shows how 100 percent traceability and cost-efficient production can be achieved. Thanks to the ARBURG Turnkey Control Module (ATCM) SCADA system installed in the turnkey system, all the relevant process and quality data for each individual component can be traced at any time.
In the system, the two halves of the injection-molded housing are assembled with three bubble tubes after demolding to form the ready-to-use part. Each part is marked with a QR code following an optical quality inspection. The data can then be retrieved at any time on a part-specific website. In practice, this forms the basis for big data analyses and 100 percent traceability.

The centerpiece of the system is an electric ALLROUNDER 470 A with OPC UA interface. The 1+1 cavity family mold is used to produce two housing parts (lower shell and cover) in a cycle time of about 50 seconds.

A Multilift V 15 linear robotic system removes the housing sections. An additional A-axis is used to set down the cover and lower shell directly into an assembly station without requiring an additional turning station and three bubble tubes are inserted to produce the ready-to-use spirit level.

ARBURG Turnkey Control Module (ATCM)
The ATCM stores data from the injection molding process for each component and combines this with the results of the camera-based functional test. If required, the ATCM can start non-cyclical production processes, for example the removal of parts for quality control purposes.
