ARBURG at MSV 2019

The potential of digitalization

At MSV, to be held in Brno from 7 to 11 October 2019, ARBURG will be demonstrating the potential of digitalization. At the trade fair stand in hall G1, stand 36, a compact turnkey system, in which customer specifications are integrated online into injection molding production, the use of augmented reality (AR) in service and additive manufacturing can be experienced live.

Trends in digitalization
“Digitalization is the main topic at this year's MSV. With our three exhibits, we are perfectly positioned to demonstrate our range of services and answer any of our customers' questions. Our technology enables customers to flexibly produce high-quality molded parts and to expand their manufacturing range using ARBURG Plastic Freeforming. In addition, we will demonstrate how we can make our highly valued service even more efficient in the future thanks to digitalization,” said Dr. Daniel Orel, Managing Director of ARBURG spol. s r.o. in the Czech Republic, commenting on ARBURG's presence at the trade fair.

Turnkey system: Tension straps “on demand”
As a "smart exhibit", a turnkey system built around a vertical ALLROUNDER 375 V will produce elastic tension straps "on demand". At Plastpol, visitors can choose between tension straps of different lengths, colors and end piece combinations and can enter the variant of their choice directly at the terminal. The turnkey system produces the tension straps "on demand" on a flexible shot-to-shot basis – with no need for conversions, thanks to a clever product and mold design and Industry 4.0 components.

Augmented reality (AR): New service perspectives
At MSV 2019, ARBURG will be demonstrating the virtual maintenance of an injection unit using AR data goggles and will show what advantages such visual support can offer in terms of "smart services" in the future. Computer-aided augmented virtual reality, with additional virtual information such as lubrication points or sensors within the machine, allows complicated maintenance tasks to be carried out more easily, more safely and faster while faults can be efficiently identified and rectified. This reduces the time required for troubleshooting and increases machine availability.

freeformer: Experiencing additive manufacturing in practice
A freeformer 200-3X and a variety of functional components will be shown at MSV 2019 to demonstrate that ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) is not only suitable for prototyping, but also for industrial additive manufacturing of functional components. At interactive stations, visitors will be able to pick up "components" and convince themselves of their functionality and quality.
