Fakuma 2024: ALLROUNDER 630 A

An electric ALLROUNDER 630 A will get visitors thirsting for sustainable injection moulding solutions at Fakuma 2024. Using a conical drinking tumbler as an example, ARBURG (Hall A3, Stand 3101) will demonstrate how high-quality transparent plastic products can be produced from copolyester with 50 per cent recycled content and customised inline using hot stamping. The shatterproof tumbler is a sustainable alternative to glass and disposable items for festivals, beer gardens and fast food chains, for example.

Streamlined production cell with new robotic system

At Fakuma 2024, an electric ALLROUNDER 630 A with a size 800 injection unit will be on show for the first time in its new slimline design. This results in a significantly reduced machine width of around 1,800 millimetres. This represents a saving of around 20 per cent compared to the clamp design, allowing the ALLROUNDER to fit into existing production grids and lines. The exhibit will be equipped with a single-cavity mould from Adoma, which produces the ‘Willi’ reusable cup in series. It will process TritanTM copolyester, a transparent polymer from Eastman with up to 50 per cent recycled content and 100 per cent BPA (bisphenol A) free. A conical tumbler with a capacity of 0.5 litres and a weight of 130 grams will be produced in a cycle time of around 60 seconds. Handling will be performed by a Multilift Select 16 linear robotic system with a new 16-kilogram load.

High-quality tumblers finished with hot stamping

After injection moulding, the high-quality reusable tumblers will be flexibly finished with attractive stamping designs in a hot stamping machine from Baier, a subsidiary of Leonhard Kurz. At Fakuma 2024, various foil embossing stamps will be used for the first days of the trade fair and the Career Days on Friday and Saturday. ARBURG also used customised tumblers like these for a special event, supported by partner Adoma, in its 2023 anniversary year on the occasion of a concert by Andreas Gabalier at the company premises in Lossburg. Thousands of reusable tumblers were used at the event, with these subsequently becoming popular collector's items.
