The high-profile delegation was welcomed by Dr Christoph Schumacher, Vice President Global Marketing at ARBURG, who also gave a brief introduction to the company and its product portfolio. Guido Frohnhaus offered a fascinating look behind the scenes during the company tour. A highlight for the Governor was his visit to the Vocational Training Center and the presentation of the multi-award-winning and certified ARBURG apprenticeship system by Michael Vieth, Director of HR Development & Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship – both generally in Germany and specifically at ARBURG – was also discussed in depth during the lunch talk with Guido Frohnhaus, Gerhard Böhm and Dr Armin Schmiedeberg. Other topics included the global economic situation and the economic potential that the state of Connecticut (CT) offers companies based there. This includes the US subsidiary of ARBURG, whose headquarters are located in Rocky Hill, CT. Of course, the US presidential election campaign was also a topic of conversation.
