Open House ARBURG Inc., USA

ARBURG Inc.’s Open House was once again a huge success with American customers. On September 24th 2026, the subsidiary opened the doors of its ARBURG Technology Center (ATC) in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, to showcase trends and innovations in digitalization, AI, and automation. Customers and partners were able to experience machines and best-practice solutions for digitalization and automation firsthand. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with ARBURG experts and technology partners in a collaborative and interactive environment.

Firm eye on the future: Always one step ahead

In his welcoming remarks on behalf of the entire management team, Guido Frohnhaus, Managing Director Technology at the German company’s headquarters in Lossburg, emphasized that the U.S. is ARBURG’s most important market outside of Germany and that the family-owned company will continue to invest in the future, in the American team, the ATC, and customer support. In this context, digitalization and the use of extensive data sets are becoming increasingly important. Martin Baumann, Managing Director of US subsidiary ARBURG Inc., confirmed this: “Injection molding is constantly evolving and requires us to always be one step ahead,” he noted at the event. “Accordingly, we put together an interesting program that addressed key issues currently shaping our industry. As a responsible partner, we provide our customers with the right answers and solutions!”

Open House: Engaging expert lectures and exhibits

In four expert presentations, customers learned how to optimize their operational processes, how automation can be implemented in practice, how production efficiency can be improved through centralized data collection and processing, and how the use of artificial intelligence in injection molding significantly increases overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). A total of five electric machines - two high-performance ALLROUNDERs ALLDRIVE and three standard ALLROUNDERs TREND - produced various injection-molded parts live on stage. All exhibits were automated with robotic systems. Of particular interest was the production of business card holders, complete with boxes featuring lids, which could be personalized with the names of individual visitors using a printing machine from partner Inkcups. In addition to the machine exhibits, the focus was primarily on solutions in the areas of digitalization and AI in practical application. For example, ARBURG’s technology partner Plus 10 presented the new “Hopper” software, integrated into the GESTICA control system: This AI solution can self-learn to optimize parameters and product quality, thereby reducing scrap and improving part quality. The presentation of ARBURG’s turnkey offering was also very well received by customers. In the area of automation, a container changer for production cells - implemented in the U.S. - was showcased.

Accompanying events rounded out the Open House

On the day before the Open House, customers had the opportunity to participate in a charity Golf Tournament with proceeds going to manufacturing education in the greater Connecticut area. In addition, on September 25, ARBURG Inc. opened its doors in Rocky Hill, as is its tradition, to local schools. Through this initiative, the company aims to help spark interest in careers in plastics processing among future generations.
