ARBURG at the Moldplas 2015

freeformer on show in Portugal for the first time

ARBURG is to present the entire range of cost-effective plastic parts production - from one-off parts to high-volume production - on Stand 3B04, Hall 3, at the Moldplas, to be held in Batalha from 28 to 31 October 2015.This is the first time that the freeformer additive manufacturing system will be presented in Portugal.

freeformer additively processes two components
The freeformer uses 3D CAD data to produce fully functional plastic parts from qualified plastic granules. The exhibit uses a second discharge unit to produce a fully functional part with complex geometries with the help of water-soluble support structures. Alternatively, this can be used to produce parts in different colours, with special tactile qualities, or as a hard/soft combination.

Multi-component injection moulding
As an example of the automated production of high-volume parts, an electric two-component ALLROUNDER 470 A will be used at the Moldplas 2015 to produce two-colour iPhone covers from hard PP and soft TPE for an iPhone 6. This application will be realised with Portuguese partner Plasdan, which will provide a 1+1-cavity mould, special rotation technology and, in addition to the electric injection unit from ARBURG, a second retrofittable electric injection unit. A MULTILIFT SELECT robotic system will be used to handle the moulded parts.
