ARBURG at formnext 2019
New technologies and focus on medical sector
At formnext, which is set to take place from 19 to 22 November 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany, ARBURG will be presenting the new potential offered by ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) at stand D 121 in hall 12.1. The ARBURG AM stand, which will be significantly larger than in previous years, will also feature a section dedicated specifically to the medical sector for the first time.
Focus on medical technology
"As the world's leading trade fair for additive manufacturing, formnext is the perfect platform for us to present new products, applications and developments for the future of ARBURG Plastic Freeforming. At the ARBURG stand, which is around 30% larger than in previous years, visitors will be able to see and explore our innovations and components up close", says Lukas Pawelczyk, Head of Freeformer Sales at ARBURG. "In the medical technology sector in particular, the APF process opens up applications that cannot be achieved with any other process. We'll be showcasing specific examples in a special area on our stand".
Medical components made from original materials
A freeformer 200-3X will be processing a resorbable PLLA to highlight the advantages of the APF process for this demanding sector. The open system is ideal for the medical technology sector, as it can be used to economically process biocompatible, resorbable and FDA-approved original plastic granulates, for example to produce custom orthoses or implants. With just a few minor modifications, the freeformer can also be deployed in clean rooms.
A detailed look at the technology and prospects for the future
The second freeformer 200-3X will give visitors the opportunity to take a closer look at the technology packed into the system. The large freeformer 300-3X will be processing the aerospace-approved material Ultem 9085 to show how complex components can be produced from high-temperature materials. In another new exhibit, ARBURG will be looking to the future with a fibre-reinforced component manufacturing demonstration. The trade fair stand will be completed by a display of a range of APF components.
