Expert presentations

First-hand information

During our expert presentations, a team of high-profile specialists from a wide variety of industries will outline the latest trends, covering all aspects of plastics processing. You can look forward to interesting presentations on topics such as the circular economy and resource efficiency, additive manufacturing, ARBURG training courses and the GESTICA filling assistant.

Circular economy

Circular economy – concepts and standards for sustainable recycling
What are the technical requirements for plastics recycling? Which options are available for quality assurance? This presentation highlights innovative strategies and system concepts while revealing practical and cross-industry solutions. In addition, the legal and economic considerations of recyclable product design will be discussed.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Josef Endres (Leibniz University Hanover)
received his PhD at the Ruhr University Bochum and has been an expert in bioplastics and composites for 25 years. In 2019, he took up an appointment at Leibniz University Hanover, where he heads the Institute for Plastics and Recycling Technology.

Resource efficiency

Resource efficiency – how does digitalisation contribute to a circular economy?
Digitalisation, efficient use of resources and reducing CO2 emissions – these challenges are becoming increasingly important in the plastics industry. This presentation showcases innovative solutions offered by our digital products as part of arburgXworld. This is complemented by our arburgGREENworld programme, which bundles all activities relating to a circular economy. Our goal is always to increase our customers' production efficiency.

Dirk Lägeler (Key Account Management)
joined ARBURG in 2015 and has been part of the ARBURG digitalisation team since 2018. His responsibilities include developing the arburgXworld customer portal.

Joachim Branz (Technical Sales Manager)
has been employed at ARBURG since 1986. After completing his training, he worked as a service technician all over the world. Since 2019, he has been developing circular economy concepts in the Technical Sales Department as part of our arburgGREENworld programme.

GESTICA filling assistant

GESTICA filling assistant – for efficient and reliable set-up
Despite increasing time pressure and high demands, assistance systems enable installation technicians to focus on process optimisation. This presentation introduces the filling assistant of the GESTICA machine control system, developed jointly with partner Simcon, and shows the potential applications in plastics production.

Gunter Schmid (Process Development Engineer)
has been working in process development at ARBURG since 1992. His responsibilities include process modelling and the development of operating concepts for machine control systems.

M.Sc. Maximilian Mades Junior Project Manager (Simcon GmbH)
has been working for Simcon since June 2018. In addition to his activities in application technology, he serves as the main contact for research and development.
