You produce components for the automotive sector? Then ARBURG is exactly right for you! Our experts configure ALLROUNDER injection moulding machines precisely to your requirements. There are virtually no limits with regard to application options, materials and process combinations.

We have mastered all processes and process combinations. On our injection moulding solutions, your product requirements can be met in zero-fault quality production, e.g. precise LED lenses and rain/light sensors, high-quality interior surface finishes or durable plastic-metal composites in the engine compartment. Here, our SELOGICA control system acts as the control centre in order to integrate a wide variety of peripherals.

  • Zero-faults quality: fully automated production cells integrate upstream or downstream operations
  • Time savings thanks to synchronised machine and robotic system movements
  • Comprehensive ARBURG know-how: all processes and process combinations for the automotive sector can be implemented, e.g. multi-component injection moulding, inline printing and fluid injection technology
  • ALLROUNDERs process thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers and liquid silicones

Application examples

Sensor systems
Liquid silicone compensates for curvature: thanks to LSR coupling cushions, a rain/light sensor can be optimally attached to a car windscreen. A multi-component machine moulds a low-viscosity liquid silicone (5 Shore A) onto a PBT frame, in which the sensors are inserted.

A complex production cell takes over production of a urea sensor. The ALLROUNDER 1200 T rotary table machine enables the simultaneous removal and insertion during injection moulding. A Scara robot provides 14 delicate pins, which are overmoulded in the mould.

Thick-walled parts such as car door handles can be produced using fluid injection technology (FIT). In this example, a core made from PA 6 is reinforced and a PA 12 outer skin with a high surface quality, have been produced, at a significantly reduced weight.

Engine compartment
Hybrid components in a plastic metal composite are lighter than steel and can contain additional functions. For example a seal made from liquid silicone. The fully-automated production of a hybrid lid meets the highest requirements in terms of quality and productivity.

Lighting elements
Using the injection compression moulding process, thick-walled optical components are produced, e.g. LED lenses from PC for the dipped beam, high beam or daytime running lights in car headlights. Quality problems such as sink marks or broken ejectors can be reliably prevented using this technique.
