100th birthday for Hehl company

2023 is a special year for the global ARBURG family, as it marks "100 years of the Hehl family company”. It is 100 years since the company founder, Arthur Hehl, started his first company in Lossburg, which became ARBURG several years later and grew into the leading global injection moulding solutions brand we know today.

Hehl family celebrates 100 years

In February, ARBURG celebrated the company centenary with the first in a programme of special events this year.
VIP guests from the Lossburg region, German and international customers, and other companions closely associated with ARBURG's success story, attended an auspicious anniversary event in Lossburg.
The three managing partners Juliane Hehl, Renate Keinath and Michael Hehl, opened the evening with an animated question-and-answer session about the company. They described, in a very authentic and personal way, what has made ARBURG so special for the past century and which path the company is taking for the next 100 years.
The company’s 100-year success story was brought to life on two large LED screens. Nearly 500 guests were taken on a journey through time, packed with ARBURG milestones and images of the people and events of the day. These included the company's first own injection moulding machine, the "Informant" demo bus, stands at many trade fairs and much more.
Fittingly at a time of high energy costs, ARBURG has produced two new energy-efficient machines to commemorate the centenary.
At the Lossburg event, Sales and Technology Managing Directors Gerhard Böhm and Guido Frohnhaus presented the two machines to the audience: The hybrid ALLROUNDER 470 H in the “Comfort” and “Premium” performance variants, which contain many technical innovations that are only available from ARBURG. An “Ultimate” performance version and other sizes will follow later this year.

In May, ARBURG Ltd. will present the new 100-tonne, energy-saving hybrid “Comfort” model machine at a special anniversary customer event held in Warwick. The new machine is particularly interesting for customers who are looking for an energy-saving alternative to hydraulic machines, for example, as the high-quality hydraulic injection unit reduces acquisition costs and is extremely robust.
Compared to a hydraulic machine, the new ALLROUNDER 470 H has an energy footprint up to 50% better, can save up to 12,000 kg of CO2 per year, and has many technical features that are only available from ARBURG. A new, patent-pending oil management concept, for example, reduces the oil requirement by around 35%. Flow rate splitting enables simultaneous movements of hydraulic auxiliary axes. The dry cycle time is also reduced by about one third. The ARBURG servo-hydraulic system (ASH) permits particularly energy-efficient and low-emission operation.

“This year recognises an amazing milestone in the Hehl family business,” says managing director Colin Tirel. “We are celebrating with our customers locally and globally; after all, it’s not every year that you celebrate your one hundredth birthday! We have been there to service our customers ongoing requirements for many years and we will be so for many more. As ARBURG says, “Wir sind da””.

Technology Days became “Anniversary Days 2023”

To mark the prestigious birthday, ARBURG has called its famous, annual Technology Days customer event this year “Anniversary Days”.
Following the recent trend, sustainability, carbon reduction and digitalisation were the big themes at this year’s event, that ran from 8 to 11 March. In all, 43 machines with applications from a wide variety of industries showcased ARBURG's wide range of products and services. These include new innovations, machines and robot system portfolios with turnkey systems, a variety of processes and digital products, and ARBURG's pre-sales and after-sales services.
And visitors had the chance to take a journey through the company's history on a tour with ARBURG employees.
