Anniversary: ARBURG Partner Summit

On 23 March 2023, ARBURG hosted the "Partner Summit" in Lossburg. With this anniversary event, ARBURG expressed its special thanks to its long-standing technology partners and suppliers, without whom the unique success story of "100 years of the Hehl family company" would not have been possible. 450 invited guests came to the company headquarters to celebrate the anniversary in the "ARBURG Cube" and to find out more during presentations and plant tours.

Focus on sustainability

The main topic during the Partner Summit was the comprehensive activities of ARBURG and its partners in the area of sustainability. Samira Uharek, the ARBURG Sustainability Manager, gave an overview. The objectives include more production and resource efficiency, circular economy and reduction of the CO2 footprint. The spectrum ranges from FEM-optimised design, the use of near-contour raw materials and minimisation of sheet metal waste in the production of ALLROUNDERs, to services such as the arburgXworld customer portal, the testing of alternative plastics and the new "Action Plan: Energy" for on-site energy consulting at the customer's premises, to efficient waste management, the use of rainwater, wind power, geothermal energy and photovoltaics. As part of its action plan, ARBURG is continuously working to act in a more climate-neutral, socially responsible and responsible manner and makes this transparent in its sustainability report. Samira Uharek emphasised that ARBURG is able to rely on its consistent procurement policy and excellent supply chain management. A supply share of 72 per cent comes from Germany and 66 per cent of that from Baden-Württemberg. The sustainability activities of the suppliers have a positive effect on the machine balances and are therefore very valuable for ARBURG.

Exciting plant tours and an impressive evening programme

After the presentations, the guests went on tours of the facility. Experts were on hand at a total of ten different stations to address topics such as in-house electronics manufacturing and control construction, sustainable building technology, turnkey solutions and resource-saving production in cubic manufacturing, sheet metal production and work preparation. This was complemented by an overview of development partnerships and the presentation of the "arburgXworld" and "arburgGREENworld" programmes. The machine technology was also presented and sustainable injection moulding applications were shown in a live setting. The event was rounded off with a brilliant evening programme attended by the partners and managing directors. The enthusiastic guests made good use of the opportunity to network and celebrate in the midst of the large ARBURG family until early in the morning of the following day.
