Apprentice exchange as a pilot project

ARBURG apprentices in Great Britain

19.04.2017
In February 2017, six ARBURG apprentices in their third training year visited five companies in Great Britain for four weeks. During this special European pilot project, Martin Schmid and Felix Schübel (future electronics technicians) from the ARBURG headquarter in Lossburg got acquainted with the production of John Guest Ltd, a renowned and long-term key customer of ARBURG.

Gaining new experience
During their stay at John Guest Ltd, the two German apprentices could gain valuable insights into the professional and technical conditions and could extend their social and cultural skills. They worked in a foreign country, in another cultural environment and could also broaden their language skills. For most of the apprentices, this was the first long-term professional stay abroad.

Longstanding cooperation with ARBURG
John Guest Ltd have been working closely with ARBURG Ltd for more than 30 years. Since 1982, the company has been by far the largest ARBURG customer in Great Britain and Ireland. Just like ARBURG, the manufacturer of plumbing fittings for industrial and domestic use sees a great future potential in this pilot project for a further and deeper know-how transfer in the training sector. In June and July, five apprentices from Great Britain will come to the ARBURG premises in Lossburg.
