Medical technology
The medical technology sector requires high standards of precision and cleanliness. The stainless steel surfaces of the fully-encapsulated clamping unit can be cleaned quickly and are insensitive even to the aggressive agents commonly used during sterilization.

ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (AKF)
Unlike conventional additive manufacturing techniques, with ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (AKF) standard granulates are melted as in the injection molding process. The freeformer produces the component without support structures, layer by layer from minuscule droplets. The discharge unit with nozzle remains stationary, while the component carrier moves.

Micro-components are often smaller than a single grain of granulate. A homogeneous preparation of the melt, short dwell times of the plastics and operation according to the first-in, first-out principle are therefore key for the quality of your parts. Long-fibre direct injection molding
In long-fiber direct injection molding, fibers with a length of up to 50 mm are added directly to the liquid melt via a side feeder on the injection unit. This ensures that fiber damage is minimized during material preparation. The fiber length, fiber content and material combination can also be individually adjusted.

Particle-foam Composite Injection Molding
Particle-foam composite injection molding (PCIM) combines a foamed insert with a polymer component. By melting the surface of the foamed insert in a defined manner when injecting the plastic, a lightweight part is produced with a durable mechanical connection, dispensing with the need for downstream assembly steps.

Liquid silicone injection molding
ARBURG has been pioneering the development of liquid silicone injection molding (LSR) since 1980. This is reflected in the extent of our expertise and the LSR-specific injection molding technology available. This means that we can always devise the perfect system solution for the specific customer requirements.

Powder injection moulding
This process enables the cost-effective series production of durable, precision metal (MIM) or ceramic (CIM) parts. The major benefit of the multistage process: freedom of shape. With ARBURG as your partner, you can successfully interlink all process steps.

Compression injection molding
This process enables the production of low-stress, thick-walled components without sink marks and with high contour accuracy. However, this is a complex process and requires a detailed knowledge of the process and high-quality machine technology.

Overmoulding inserts
Thanks to the integration of manual operations and innovative working methods, fuel tank strainers are overmolded cost-effectively to a high level of quality in small batch volumes. A total of seven production steps take place within a total cycle time of 50 seconds.

In-mold labeling
The IML process is suitable for high-speed packaging, as well as technical applications. This means, for example, that thin-walled containers can be labeled directly in the mold using inserts. The handling of the finished molded parts is performed by a special IML system.

Our unique freeformer produces fully functional plastic parts using the new additive manufacturing process – ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (AKF) – from 3D CAD files, from standard granulates and without a mold. It therefore offers boundless freedom for the efficient production of individual parts and small-volume batches.

Versatile hydraulic machines
Our hydraulic ALLROUNDER injection molding machines can be used for a wide variety of applications and can be individually adapted for operation in conjunction with all familiar injection molding techniques. The range extends from the GOLDEN EDITION entry-level machine series to the custom-adaptable ALLROUNDER S machines.

High-performance hybrid machine
Fast, productive and accurate: the so-called ARBURG bag made from PP is an example of a sophisticated technical application. It is produced on a high-performance ALLROUNDER 920 H machine. The paper-bag look places high demands in terms of mold technology.

Menu-guided setup via the SELOGICA Set-up Assistant module – from mold change and automatic initial calculation of the parameters, right up to the completed production sequence. Numerous functions running automatically in the background provide help in programming ALLROUNDER machines with minimal effort.

Programming of six-axis robotic systems
The universal SELOGICA control system can be used to program six-axis robotic systems from Kuka just as conveniently as ALLROUNDER injection molding machines. The operator can continue working in his accustomed environment without the need for any special programming knowledge, even in the case of complex sequences.

Complex turnkey systems
Based on the modular ALLROUNDER system, just the right injection molding solution can be individually configured for any requirement – from a simple machine through to complete turnkey systems. With the tandem solution, two machines can be linked via a robotic system.
