At the Technology Days 2010, ARBURG launched its new micro-injection module, which operates with an 8-mm injection screw. This is combined with a second screw, which is responsible for melting the material. The micro-injection module is designed specifically for use on electric ALLROUNDER A machines with a size 70 injection unit. Its enclosed construction means that it can be changed rapidly and used on a number of machines.
 
The new micro-injection module features:

		Dual-screw technology
		Servo-electrically driven screw pre-plasticizing
		Injection unit with eight-millimeter conveying screw and non-return valve
		Continuous material feed from the inlet to the tip of the injection screw
		Constant injection conditions through dosage control
		Processing of standard granulates

 
It therefore comprehensively meets the technological micro-injection molding requirements with regard to:
 

		Homogeneous preparation and plasticizing of tiny material volumes
		Short dwell times
		Injection of minimal shot weights
		Precise control of injection movements
		First-in-first-out principle
