26/02/2010 - During the week of the MDM and Plastec West show ARBURG Inc. hosted a seminar at its state-of-the-art ARBURG Technology Center (ATC) in Irvine, CA. The event was focusing in detail on energy efficiency and cost-effective production cells. A total of 185 people attended the evening sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 9 and 10, 2010.

A total of three machines were run:
 

		An all-electric ALLROUNDER 520 A with a clamping force of 1,300 kN (143 tons) with a MULTILIFT V robotic system showed an in-mold assembly and in-mold labeling application
		A second all-electric ALLROUNDER 470 A with a clamping force of 1,000 kN  (110 tons) demonstrated the impressive fast dry cycle time of the ALLDRIVE electric machine series
		The highly economical ALLROUNDER 470 C GOLDEN EDITION with a clamping force of 1,500 kN (165 tons) with a MULTILIFT V robotic system produced a medical part and demonstrated robotic part's removal

Four expert presentations were held:
 

		The ARBURG presentation focused on the molding machine and its drive systems as well as the heat management of molds and the entire energy flow of a molding facility
		Electroform discussed the efficient approach to in-mold labeling and assembly tools for molders to be more productive and cost-competitive in the future.
		Frigel showed ways to an efficient approach to cooling with the focus on saving energy and water
		Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the largest electric utilities in California, discussed rebate programs for molding companies in California during 2010
