ARBURG ‘handed over’ the new Customer Center at its headquarters in Lossburg to its customers by mid of March. A first opening event – with all contracting companies involved – was followed with the official opening ceremonies in the presence of German and international customers. Adjacent ARBURG opened its doors for the traditional ARBURG Technology Days to present to over 3,000 trade visitors from all over the world the latest ARBURG technology as well as the all new Customer Center.

The Customer Center is the heart piece of the 10,000 square meter new building. In the spacious premises ARBURG will be able to serve customers as well as prospects even better than already in the past. The 2,100-square-meter Customer Center provides space for more than 30 injection molding machines: all ALLROUNDER machine series comprising the entire clamping force range from 125 to 5,000 kN, complex manufacturing cells and a wide range of applications. In addition, there are three separate, fully glazed rooms for clean room, powder and production technology. This will allow all visitors to “live” and comprehensively test and experience the current ARBURG product range.

Energy efficiency is a topic that ARBURG has already been working on holistically for many years and refers to the business and products alike. Thus, the energy management of the entire new building complex completely results from geothermal energy. Heat energy is not only removed from the earth, but the heat production of the machines is also fed back into the earth. Also new is the use of photovoltaics. The solar panels were placed vertically in an area of 160 square meters on the south facade of the new building.

Moreover, ARBURG also presented two new, energy efficient electrical machines, the small ALLROUNDER 270 A with 350 kN clamping force and the large ALLROUNDER 720 A with 3200 kN. As a big surprise a completely new machine series was presented: the high performance injection moulding machines ALLROUNDER H (HIDRIVE) with energy-efficient drive technology for reduced cycle time for thermoplastic processing. The HIDRIVE machines are characterized primarily by the powerful combination of well-known electrical and hydraulic machine technology.
