In the micro injection moulding sector, the requirements in terms of injection moulding technology are accordingly high. These include:
the homogeneous preparation and plasticising of tiny material volumes
short dwell times, injection of minimal shot weights
precise control of injection movements and
the first-in-first-out principle.
ARBURG continuously develops new technologies for micro-part manufacturers. In addition to ever smaller injection units and screw diameters, complete production cells have already been designed and implemented for micro injection moulding.
The latest highlight in the field of micro injection moulding, however, is the new ARBURG micro-injection module, which operates with an 8-mm injection screw. This is combined with a second screw, which is responsible for melting the material. The advantages include :
continuous material feed from the inlet to the tip of the injection screw
constant injection conditions via dosage control and
the processing of standard granulates
