19/11/2008 - The second TonT event took place in Belgium on 5 and 6 November 2008. As well as energy efficiency, the primary focus in Haasrode “Brabanthal” lay on automation and the ARBURG host computer system (ALS). “Many of our visitors weren't even aware of all the initiatives that ARBURG is taking in the field of energy efficiency. Participants at the event were therefore even more amazed at the cost advantages and optimisation potentials they could achieve through energy-efficient production. We were inundated with questions about energy efficiency,” says the Manager of the Belgian subsidiary, Simon Bemong, summing up the two-day event.
According to Simon Bemong, Belgian companies have to invest to a greater extent in modern equipment, if they are to survive the price war among European competitors in the long term. “In this connection, ARBURG offers complex production cells, for example, which are turnkey solutions designed specifically in line with customers’ requirements. However, the central collection and monitoring of data from the entire production process can also contribute to increased energy efficiency. With the targeted acquisition of machine and order data achieved with the ALS, companies can hugely increase the transparency of their entire manufacturing process.”
The event was rounded off by an evening meal, during which visitors could discuss developments in the industry in a casual atmosphere and enjoy winding down after a highly informative day.
