Energy Efficiency as future topic
21/10/2008 - With a total of some 380 visitors, ARBURG’s Technology on Tour event was held at two Belgian venues between 21 and 23 October 2008. The objective of the event is, on the one hand, to present the plastics industry in general and, on the other hand, to explain the topic of energy-efficiency for the complete injection moulding process . In its role as a presentation and information platform, the show truck first stopped in Diepenbeek on the Campus of Limburg Catholic University (KhLim) and spent the next two days at the Catholic University College of Bruges in Ostend (KHBO).

The truck from the French “Destination Plasturgie” group is on a European tour commissioned by ARBURG, and is visiting a number of the company’s subsidiaries and trading partners. The purpose of the event is to present and explain the numerous possibilities for energy optimisation with regard to injection moulding. An ALLROUNDER 320 A with a clamping force of 500 kN is installed in the specially-converted truck in order to provide a live demonstration of energy-efficient moulded part production. Each event comprised two presentations and two demonstrations. The principal attraction was the specialist presentation on energy efficiency at ARBURG. The second presentation, by Bayer, dealt with the topic of "Plastics in industrial operations". The programme was rounded off by demonstrations in the truck and in the university laboratories.

“In order to awaken interest in the plastics industry among young graduates, the truck represents an ideal presentation platform. The subject of energy efficiency in particular is met with a high level of interest by the students. We are delighted that the event drew so many interested parties,” said a satisfied Simon Bemong, Manager of the Belgian ARBURG subsidiary.
