Seminar in Nuremberg
The first Technology on Tour Seminar in Germany took place on 3 to 4 June 2008. A total of 58 enthusiastic customers took part in the two-day event at the Arotel in Nuremberg. The guests' reactions were thoroughly positive and confirmed that with the topic of energy efficiency, ARBURG has hit a nerve among its customers. “ARBURG has truly hit the mark with the energy efficiency theme. In times of rising raw-material and energy prices, energy saving potentials with regard to both the machines and production processes are gaining in importance.” In informal talks during the event, expertise was exchanged and some initial attempts were made to sketch out individual solutions.

Following the short opening speech by the Sales Manager for Germany, Eberhard Lutz, the main ARBURG presentation focused on the energy-optimised use of injection moulding machines and possible energy-reduction measures relating to the customers' production sequences. The seminar was complemented by guest presentations from Werner Koch Maschinentechnik GmbH (“Process reliability and economy from the silo to the screw”) and gwk Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik mbH (“Lowering energy costs through the correct use of innovative cooling and temperature-control techniques”). The final presentation was also held by ARBURG, on the subject of computer-aided process optimisation using the company's own ARBURG host computer system (ALS).
Seminar in Rust
On 2 July 2008, ARBURG continued its series of seminars on the topic of energy efficiency in Germany. With 54 visitors, this seminar was extremely well received by customers. The one-day event, held at the Europapark in Rust, was consequently a thorough success. The agenda covered the same seminar topics as in Nuremberg, with a particular focus on energy-efficient process technology and energy-optimised injection moulding. The current trend in injection moulding is for company infrastructure to be increasingly designed based on energy-optimised parameters. ARBURG recognised this development early on and is today in a position to offer its customers comprehensive consulting in this regard.
