ARBURG used a hybrid injection moulding machine in combination with a robotic system to present a cost-effective entry-level solution for automated parts production at the International Engineering Fair (IEF) in Nitra.

Slovakian injection moulding companies are increasingly looking for cost-effective solutions for more rational production. The International Engineering Fair, held in Nitra from 25 to 28 May 2010, served as a showcase for such technology. ARBURG used a combination of a hybrid ALLROUNDER HIDRIVE and a MULTILIFT SELECT robotic system to show how entry-level automated part production can combine high-quality, smooth performance with economic efficiency.

Jaroslav Novak, manager of ARBURG’s subsidiary in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, identified the main focus as the energy efficiency of machines and systems. “We have been setting standards in this sector for some time with our energy-optimised ALLROUNDERs with the “e²” label.” With its hybrid, modular ALLROUNDER H machine series, ARBURG offers injection moulding machines with a particularly cost-efficient price/performance ratio.

The high-performance ALLROUNDER 570 H machine with a clamping force of 2,000 kN and a size 800 injection unit was presented with a 1+1-cavity mould that produced an eyeglasses case. The upper and lower sections of the case were produced in a single cycle, removed by a MULITLIFT SELECT and set down on a conveyor belt. Jaroslav Novak explained that the exhibit presented a cost-efficient, modular approach to automation. ARBURG received a gold medal for innovative machine technology at the fair, as the machine manufacturer of the exhibited hybrid ALLROUNDER H.
