In his speech, ARBURG Managing Director Sales, Helmut Heinson, talked about ARBURG's first steps in Shanghai in 1997 as a "basic office" and the decision to turn the office into an independent subsidiary in 2004. "Under Toni Tong's management, we began to build a highly-motivated team of employees. Our common objective was always to provide even better support to the Chinese customers and to make available the comprehensive service offerings which leading global manufacturers of injection moulding technology have come to expect" said he. "Initially, all the activities were concentrated on the known German, European and American customers who had set up production facilities in the region. Today, however, more than 50 percent of our business is accounted for by local Chinese customers." Toni Tong described the great interest as "a sign of the trust and support of his team." He also praised the partnership between ARBURG and its customers, describing them as being characterised by common goals. This was confirmed by representatives from Hongfa, Risheng and Delphi, all of whom personally congratulated ARBURG on the anniversary.
