24/09/2009 - There was great interest among visitors for the ARBURG technology and the exhibition stand was therefore well frequented on all days. Despite decreasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors, the outcome for Jaroslav Novak, ARBURG Subsidiary Manager in the Czech Republic, was therefore a positive one: “With numerous intensive technical discussions and specific project dialogues, the MSV has clearly fulfilled our expectations. With the two exhibits, we have perfectly met the requirements of the trade visitors. There is a strong demand for high performance and individual automation solutions. Furthermore, we had many enquiries regarding multi-component injection moulding.”

As representative of the new hybrid machines, an ALLROUNDER 570 H with a clamping force of 2,000 kN was presented at the Czech trade fair. On this exhibit, CD cases were injection moulded, removed by a MULTILIFT V robotic system and set down on a conveyor belt. The thoroughly positive response to the ALLROUNDER H has again shown that the new machine series has been very well-received on the market. The hybrid HIDRIVE machines take the best from ARBURG’s modular component system to create a high-performance machine concept. They combine the servo-electric clamping unit of the ALLROUNDER A, the hydraulic injection unit of the ALLROUNDER S with hydraulic accumulator technology and servo-electric dosage to form a powerful machine series for optimised cycle times. The HIDRIVE machines are mainly characterised by maximum production performance with short cycles and reduced energy consumption at a highly attractive price. In addition, there is the option to equip the new ALLROUNDER H with a MULTILIFT V SELECT robotic system, to automate moulded part production and thus to further increase cost-effectiveness.

With a production cell based on a hydraulic ALLROUNDER 370 S with a clamping force of 600 kN and a MULTILIFT V robotic system, ARBURG demonstrates its expertise in the field of customer-specific automation solutions. In the production of the toy buggy, the robotic system inserts the metal axles, removes the sprue and the individual components and subsequently assembles them to produce the finished toy car.
 
Trade visitors were also impressed by the performance of the SELOGICA control system used on both applications. Not only can the entire injection moulding cycle be centrally managed by the integration of ARBURG robotic systems. Rather, the SELOGICA guarantees high ease of operation and a high degree of safety, even for complex processes. In addition to this, the system features simple programming via the teach-in function. Here, the robotic system learns which positions it has to move to in order to remove and set down parts with the utmost precision.
 

As well as the presentation of innovative injection moulding solutions, the general market situation was also an important topic in Brno. “In comparison with first half of the year, the level of production activity has somewhat improved and the mood in the industry is therefore more optimistic. Although, at present, caution still prevails with regard to new investments, we are expecting a positive impetus towards the end of the year,” says Jaroslav Novak with confidence.
