 | | Within the context of its vocational training programme, ARBURG also offers students at the universities of cooperative education in Baden-Württemberg the option of goal-oriented higher education. Both students and companies particularly value the highly practical courses including on-the-job training at ARBURG, which in the vast majority of cases lead to university of cooperative education students gaining employment with the company immediately upon successfully completing their course of study. The following courses are offered by the company in conjunction with the relevant university of cooperative education:

Lectures in the subjects: General business studies, economics, law, mathematics and statistics as well as commercial information technology, programming, systems analysis, systems development and databases. Courses on the various PC tools, in languages and interdisciplinary seminars such as presentation techniques complete the material covered. Within the company, the students initially learn about the processes through on-the-job experience in the specialist departments. This knowledge is then put to use in EDP projects to support the departments. Students develop small programs and introduce these into the specialist departments.

Lectures in the subjects of mathematics, technical physics, information technology, design, materials science, engineering mechanics, production engineering, quality and environmental technology, systems engineering, general business studies, economics as well as materials and production management. At the company, the industrial engineering and business management students work alternately in commercial and technical departments. In this manner, they learn the techniques of metal processing, use of CAD systems in design, as well as the fundamentals of materials management, sales and quality management. In order to provide an insight into corporate cross-border activities beyond Germany, a stay of approximately six weeks abroad is planned.

Lectures in the subjects general business studies, economics, law, accountancy, data processing, mathematics and statistics. Participation in business games and excursions. It is also possible to attend seminars on subjects such as oration as well as learning and presentation techniques. As a specialised area of study, options are available in production and materials management, distribution/marketing and personnel. The specialised areas of finance and accountancy are compulsory. At the company, the students are familiarised with the processes within the commercial departments, particularly with regard to tender preparation. They draw up statistics, prepare projects and process customer orders.

Lectures in the subjects of general business studies, economics, intercultural behaviour, law, accountancy, data processing, mathematics and statistics as well as specialised business studies, marketing and international marketing, partly also in English and a further foreign language. At the company, students learn about business processes through on-the-job experience. They work as a team on projects and gain insights into interdepartmental activities. An internship abroad provides experience of corporate activities outside Germany.

Lectures in the fundamentals of information technology, algorithms and data structures, mathematics, signals and systems, technical physics, media design, network technology, fundamentals of electrical and software engineering. Seminars such as presentation techniques and technical English complete the course content. At the company, the function of electronic control elements and components such as condensors, diodes, transistors, logical digital components and microprocessors is learned and students independently create circuits. The knowledge learned is utilised in small hard and software projects. Students receive on-the-job experience in various specialist departments in order to learn more about the products and their operating principles.

Lectures in the subjects of design, strength of materials, mathematics, engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, physics, materials science and production engineering. Seminars such as presentation techniques complete the course content. At the company, students learn basic manual and mechanical skills such as turning, drilling, milling as well as technical drafting using CAD systems and use of the in-house data processing system. Students go through the various production departments and are familiarised with the use of advanced machines and their operation. They are also allocated engineering projects under the direction of an experienced employee.
