On June 23, 2010 a one-day seminar on LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) Injection Moulding Technology, hosted by ARBURG Shenzhen, was successfully held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen. This seminar attracted more than 110 guests from various areas of China who were interested in the wide range of LSR applications including medical, automotive and baby products.
 
The seminar consisted of two parts: presentations and machine demonstration.
 
Four presentations on topics of LSR Injection Moulding Machines, LSR materials, Dosage Pump and LSR mould design covered almost every field of LSR injection moulding. Mr. Thomas Siegel, Senior LSR Application Engineer from ARBURG’s German headquarters, held the first speech on LSR injection moulding machines. Mr. Kevin Wang, Engineering Master and Sales Director of Shin-Etsu, Guangzhou branch office, held the second speech on types, characteristics and applications of LSR materials. The third and fourth presentations were held in the afternoon. Ms. Joanna Lai, Vice General Manager of 2KM Guangzhou, made the third speech on dosage pumps and Mr. Murayama, who came to China from Japan especially for this seminar, held the last speech on LSR mould design. The guests benefited a lot from the various speeches and case study.
 
After the presentations, all guests were invited to the ARBURG Shenzhen office. They experienced the LSR components process in the premises of ARBURG Shenzhen where baby nipples, made of one-component LSR, were produced on an ALLROUNDER 470 H 1000–170, a hybrid injection moulding machine for high production capacities. A two-component ice scraper made of PC and LSR was produced on an ALLROUNDER 420 C 1000–150.
 
It was late after machine demonstration that day but some guests still stayed in the office, showing their product samples and taking the opportunity to talk with the LSR experts to find out solutions on their specific problems which puzzled them for a long time.
 
Before leaving, guests expressed that “this seminar is very meaningful and successful. We hope ARBURG Shenzhen，as a pioneer of injection moulding industry, will organize many more seminars on various topics in the future, to bring new ideas and technologies to us.”
